Well, Thanks for the nice compliment. However, keep in mind that we are only sharing our points of view on these topics and not even close to being an expert on any subject. It would sure be nice if more folks would share the knowledge or even points of view as that is what this forum is all about. With exchanges of information, experiences, ideas and facts, we all learn. I am sure that there are visitors here that are laughing at some of our comments thinking 'they think the know everything', but that is not the case. A lot of information I have gleaned over the years has come from the internet, although some of it is personal knowledge. I'm sure that guy's like Arpsum, Desert Surfer and Dennis, are very knowledgeable about Mosrite's, but for me, I'm just a novice.

Thanx Strat-o-rama, and DITTO on what Danny said. These are STRICTLY points of view, no more and no less. I, by no means, claim to be an expert on this Subject anymore than I am an expert on finding Amelia Earhart  .....wait a second....has anybody searched to see if Amelia Earhart has been found on the Forum??........No, seriously, this Forum, like Danny mentioned above, is to share any knowledge, experiences, myths, facts, rumors, etc with everyone on this Forum. And I too, hope to see more participation from other Members......
Remember, THIS IS EVERYONE's FORUM, not just a select few.....but Everyone reading this....

Three or four years ago I would see an original vintage Mosrite Ventures model for $1600-$1800, and prices of a pristine Combo was $800-$1000. I recall seeing one with Buy it Now price for $800. At the same time used Japanese Mosrite copies were selling from $750-$1000. People having access to the internet from all over the world is driving pricing out of reach.

When I bought the guitar I sold to you I paid $1000 and it needed restoration. I felt that $1000 was way too much at the time. That's why I sold it to you so cheap. An absolute 'junker' sold the other day for over $1300. Now you see MIJ Mosrite's for $1500. Give me a break! They are only clones regardless of what it say's on the headstock. That is why I feel the Hallmark is the best buy on the market. It's as much a Mosrite as any MIJ Mosrite copy. From my understanding Semie NEVER authorized or gave consent to any company in Japan to legally license and make genuine Mosrite's.

I know this is an old post I'm quoting here but I was just wondering what you think a Combo 12 should sell for now. One showed up in the local shop today, a '68 sunburst and it's winking at me.

this topic has been discussed before, but strictly my two cents is the mosrite ended in 92 with semie's death. there's great mosrite copies after that, but i so far haven't found a mosrite that nails it like the real thing. my only guess would be that Eddy's versions would be the closest thing.

I agree with you as well Danny about Mosrite prices. Back in 2004 I was going to buy a combo for 800, in really good condition too. maybe 4 years before that a 6/12 double neck was 2-2400 bucks. now you see them for 6-7000. it's a little outrageous if you ask me.
Cheers,
Aaron

A Combo 12--it'd be cool to see a pic of that. I know they made a few, but I don't believe I've ever seen one. Regarding vintage prices--at the recent vintage show in San Rafael, CA, there was a guy walking around with a Mosrite 6/12 doubleneck at $4900--it didn't sell--one of the dealers had another one at $3800 and it didn't sell either. You can mark those prices up all you want, but it's only worth what someone's willing to pay...

Am I the only one here who thinks a Combo 6/12 double neck would be incredibly awesome? Anyone with me?

Yes but it would be to wide to wear comfortably.

That Combo 12 is just too cool! I want it...but I probably can't afford it. Thanks, ElTuce! Speaking of Combos, I've seen several reruns of the Porter Wagoner Show (they're on late at night on the RFD Network) from probably the late '60's, and Porter's lead guitar player is playing a red sunburst Combo. Mel--I think a Combo doubleneck would be way cool, especially if it could be narrowed down to a manageable width, like that of the production Joe Maphis 6/12's. Bob Shade? You think they'd sell well enough to put into production? You'd sell at least one, because I'd buy one...

I think you guys forgot one minor thing....the weight ratio. A Doubleneck 'Combo' would kill you in the sense of the necks being
too heavy for the body. My Doubleneck STILL is neck heavy with a solid body, you'd be fighting to hold the necks up......... :|
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.
