Here's a guitar that I almost owned. I found this guy that was selling this mark V2 model in LA in 2007, and I asked about it. It was exactly the same thing as my first mosrite, except the color of the on/on switches. The unique thing about this guitar is it has the highest serial number I've ever seen of these models. I own 2V0110, I know Michael Marks owned at one point 2V0111.
The seller also had told me that the on/on switches were coil taps, instead of the typical bypass wiring (believable) and the pickups measured at a hot hot hot 36k ohms in humbucking mode and 17K ohms in single coil mode (not so believable). I asked Tym (tymguitars.com) could this be true (since by that time tym was making reproductions) and Tym told me it was impossible because there's not enough room inside the pickup cover to wrap that much copper, and added "believe me, I've tried."
I don't know for sure if it is possible or not, but when I questioned the seller about this, he quickly found another buyer before I could find out more. lol. Maybe I'll never know, but still I love the pictures of this guitar. Enjoy.
