Here's another local for me. There has been one of these on ebay for a couple of weeks, not moving, granted the knobs aren't original, but I think if someone snagged it for $1200 it wouldn't be a bad deal.

They also had a Celebrity bass that was a cool turquoise color. It was an older Japanese knock off and I meant to take a picture of the logo as I've only seen it a few times before. Chances are I'll be back there again somewhat soon so I'll be sure to get a picture.
Please do! I'd like information on that Celebrity Bass. If you have a phone or website I can contact them directly.

The one on ebay was the one with the wrong knobs.

Re: Mosrite Combos
Wow, 'found a thread on Combos!
There was a dirty, corroded, moldy but motly intact and surprisingly "nice" stored-in-a-barn in Texas by the sister of a guy who passed 15 years before, '65 or '66 Mosrite Of California Combo Mk I , last spring at a vintage show in metro Chicago. Fairly priced by Larry Briggs of Strings West.
Comparison of a Mosrite Mk I to a Gibson Les Paul and Mosrite Combo to a Gibson ES-335 is exceptionally fair and accurate, in this opinion.
No doubt, the combo is well "above" the Celebrity.
In this opinion, the Combo is an ourstanding guitar which has an amazing acoustic tone, exactly replicated when it comes out of the amp. Am fairly surprised there is not more interest in and chat about Combos.
Anyone have an idea how many Combos were made and what % compared with Mk I family? 1%, 5 %?
