New/Old Guitar Day -

Postby GattonFan » Tue Jul 13, 2010 2:38 pm

I was fortunate enough to be looking at the GC used gear last week, when this jewel popped up in Fresno! This is a real closet classic - only 4 small chips out on the edge, everything looks and sounds great - and at a great price. GC listed it as a 1968 MK I, but I haven't gotten into the pots or neck pocket to verify anything yet ... just enjoying playing and looking at it. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say this is a solid 8/9! :D

Nice, congratulations! Seems one can sometimes do alright at GC with when it comes to Mosrite.

Congratulations!

That is a beauty. Did it by chance come with the original case?

I just made that front on view snap shot my screen saver to admire for a couple of days. ;)

I think Dennis ought to feel just a little bit guilty taking another Mosrite out of California!

Thanks, everyone! Didn't get a case with it, but I am totally stoked with this find - I just finished taking it apart, cleaning, polishing the frets, cleaning the pots (BTW they are 1346801 - Centralab, 1st week of 1968, so it kind of helps confirm the '68 model), turned the bridge back around (don't know why people put these on backwards) - everything is original. Nothing at all in the neck pocket, as far as number or date stamp. New strings, and this baby sings! I'm loving it.
