Howdy!

Postby olrocknroller » Tue Jul 27, 2010 9:11 am

Hello! I am a recent addition to the forum, and was attracted here by a search for HitchHikers... I own one of Nokie's prototypes, which I bought directly from him. It was built by Aria, and has the same tremolo as the top-line Ventures guitar, also by Aria. It differs from the production model in that the back of the neck is finished on this unit, and production models are unfinished. It is through-body, with wonderful sustain and tone, but I wonder if that isn't another difference, because on the Aria Japan website, they give the specifications as being a set neck...

I have also ordered a "deluxe" model, and am not-so-patiently waiting... I have read that some have waited nearly five years...I'm at 2 1/2 years, so guess I might have to be patient a while longer!

Welcome to the forum. If you can, post pictures of your Hitchhiker prototype - sounds like a unique guitar!

Hi and welcome to the Mosrite Forum!

We'd love to see pictures of your guitar, hope the new one gets to you soon.

If I'm not being too nosy how did you get to meet Nokie?

Welcome aboard olrnr. There are a few members on the Forum that own HitchHikers.
I believe Desert Surfer also has a prototype HitchHiker as well, but I'll let him chime in on that ;).
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Welcome to the forum! 2 1/2 years is a looooong time to be waiting for anything, especially a guitar. Love to see pix of the HitchHiker you have, though.

Hi Mel.

Haven't figured out how to post pictures yet...my computing skills are still stuck in the age of DOS, but I'm working on it. In the mean time, here's Aria's website...mine is the red tremolo model. http://shop.ariaguitars.co.jp/shopbrand/087/O/
