Just ordered a Hallmark 60s.
Well, I finally took the plunge after thinking about it for a couple of years. I've heard nothing but good things about these guitars and can't wait for mine to get here. BTW I got a fireburst.

COngrats! IMHO, they are excellent guitars, not only for the price range, but for any price range. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy the couple I have.

Just out of curiosity, are there any Hallmark owners that ordered their guitars with the optional humbuckers?

make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Funny you should mention that, Dennis. I was over at Bob's last weekend and we were looking at some of his more unusual creations.
He showed me his Barris Crest guitar, which has, I believe, one pickup and just one control knob, which, when you pull on it, changes the pickup from a humbucker to a single coil. It was surprisingly loud in both configurations. For some reason, I had it in my head that a humbucker has a softer and muddier sound than a single coil, but that was not the case with this particular unit.
I can't say if all Hallmark humbuckers are that aggressive sounding.

design with Kramer (after they hit it big) with a single H'bucker that the coils could be split simply by pulling up on the vol knob, however I
was just wandering if anyone had ordered one of Bob's 60's models, with the humbuckers.....just thought it might be interesting, ESPECIALLY
if you can split the h'buckers to single coil simply by pulling up on the Vol and/or Tone controls.......

Re: Just ordered a Hallmark 60s.
I've never heard Hallmark humbuckers--however, the stock single-coils in my 60 Custom are hotter and a bit rounder-sounding than most single-coils--a little closer to a humbucker sound, in fact. I wound up getting 500KOhm pots put in to get a little more high-end back. Mosrites were the same way--you can sure hear the difference between the stuff the Ventures recorded with Fenders and the stuff with Mosrites, and the Hallmark sounds more like a Mosrite than it does like a Fender. I've got a real good-sounding Gibson SG Supreme, and my 60 Custom sounds not unlike it.

Re: Just ordered a Hallmark 60s.
with my mosrites at least, I felt that the mosrite humbuckers are not that aggressive, which I really like. i use to be all about hot output humbuckers, until I really took a listen to mosrites. if bob's humbuckers are anything like the these, then i doubt anyone on this forum would dislike them.
Cheers,
