Frank, thanks for your vivid guide to the instruments!!!

The best harp player I ever heard, live, was John Sebastian of the Lovin' Spoonful. I saw him in Miami at Byrds Reunion gig at the Jai Alai fronton in the early 1970s.

He absolutely has mastery of that instrument. If you have the time or inclination, listen here to the Spoonful's "Night Owl Blues:"

He is amazing, and Zal Yanavsky on guitar is also very good.

My 14 year old nephew has been getting very good with the harp for the past few years.

Here's what he messaged me last Saturday, " Busy day today - went down & played on Maxwell street - got to do one song with Sheryl King (BB's daughter).
Later went down to Elmwood Tap in Hyde Park. Got a lot of help from Dave Waldman & Scott Dirks. Susan & Mark stopped by and I got to play with Willy Buck."

A week ago Thursday he messaged me, " First rehearsal tonight with Willie Dixon's granddaughter Keisha at the old Chess Records studio - gulp. Wish me well."

That's him a few months back with Eddie Campbell.

14 YEARS OLD!?!?!

Twango!

Dude!

You da clown...wait, da MAN!

Thank you so much for making sense out of what was totally baffling to this picker.

Sarah, thanks for opening this thread; 'thinking a blues harp or two are in this imminent future.
