Following the instructions... an introduction!

Postby MissionBrown » Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:44 pm

I'm a recent convert to Mosrite guitars.
I've only had my Mosrite of California(MIJ) Ventures about 3 weeks I think.
Nice super playable guitar bought from Tym Guitars in Brisbane.
Cost a pretty penny, but Tym insisted it was the closest MIJ Mosrite to is vintage USA guitars.
Anyway after playing it for the few weeks I've had it, going back to my other guitars is.... strange.

I realise that all of my other guitars are in desperate need of a professional setup.
This thing is just great!

The bug started when a friend of mine forced me to listen to Man or Astro Man?
I was hooked, saw the Mosrite/Hallmark/Univox guitars strapped to them and gear lust began.

Initially I fell in love with a Guyatone LG-127t. No German carve, but the neck is fast and the pickups are awesome. But.... that just led for the lust of the German carve and replica Mosrite that came with the recommendation of a veteran Mosrite player.

Anyway here I am. Have enjoyed the view from the outside for a while.

Great to have you here! The Mosrite addiction may deplete your wallet, but it feeds your soul at the same time!

Welcome aboard MissionBrown. Just read your blog on the purchase of your new Mosrite.
That's a very accurate description that you had posted: "After a while of playing I put the guitar down and picked up the Guyatone version. Suddenly it was obvious that the Mosrite felt weird, because I didn't have to fight the guitar to play it!"
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Hi folks,

Thanks.
I can see why they'd be addictive.
Especially since I live about 100 meters(1/16th of a mile) from a guitar store that frequently has Mosrites in the window.
Beautiful guitars.

Despite this, I bought mine from a store 2000km away.
I'm not likely to get any more guitars for a looooooong time though, so I'm glad that I have at least one Mosrite in my small collection. :D

You have a deadringer of Mosrite beauty, MissionBrown! I love it and it's money well spent IMO. Congrats and welcome inside ;)
BTW, do you know the Japanese make? e.g. Kurokumo, Fillmore etc.? What does it say on the tremelo plate, "Moseley", "Vibramute", "Excellent" or something else? :?

I think it said Moseley, but I can't be sure.
I'll upload some pics when i get home and see what it is.

I don't think it's a fillmore.

The neck plate has Mosrite stamped on it, but no serial number and a made in japan sticker on the back of the headstock.
