New York State Country Music Hall Of Fame

Postby sleeperNY » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:59 am

I have been nominated for induction into the NYSCMHF. I am quite excited to say the least. Being the first to say I am not that great of a guitar player it is nice to be recognized by your local peers for what you have done. The ceremony is this afternoon and we will see if I make it. There are 7 nominees and 3 that make it in. My wife is being inducted into the Hall of Honor and that is the first step to making the Hall of Fame. She is the real musician in the family. She can play just about any instrument she puts her hands on. I am very proud of her.

Wish me luck
Jim

It was a fun afternoon full of some great music if you like classic country. I did Get in to the Hall of Fame and after seeing those I was up against I was surprised to get in, but I took it. I am especially proud to get in just to be with the one man that got me started down the right path on guitar. He said it wasn't how fancy you were but that you played what the people liked and that they could understand it. He was great at both hot licks and the easy stuff. He was also the first to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I wish I had more time with him but he lost the battle with leukemia back in 1968 just 2 years after I met him.

thanks for all the best wishes.

Man I'm ready to go play some more LOL
