I made an offer on this Mosrite and need to know whether to go through with it..
the guy is saying its a prototype, says the pups are original and the knobs are the Guild type. the mounting screws look like Ace HW...
after looking up the various parts on the web, it looks like a Frankenstein to me but I would like to get you guys too look at the pics let me know what you think.
I asked about a truss cover here. scroll down to see pics.

I think if you read Dorkrockrecords reply you'll find your answer. How much did you offer for it? For the right price it could still be a good guitar. If it really bothers you then I would suggest waiting for another one that would fill your needs.

I second that. If the price is agreeable then I can understand your temptation to jump in. I've never seen that kind of Humbucker with slotted screws and all instead of the usual Philips type though, -on any Mosrite before but you never know if they were ever custom ordered. It would be a perfect world if the seller could provide proof that it is genuinely a prototype twelve. As for the 'wrong' knobs etc., I would consider them to be purely cosmetic minus pointsSarah93003 wrote:I think if you read Dorkrockrecords reply you'll find your answer.

And if the super good looking CAR finish is all original, that would be a HUGE plus
