Hehe ! At least you get a picture of English Muffins .... The headstock on the guitar seems a bit Explorer-like as well .. I suppose it kind of fits the look of a surf guitar at least!

I think that's a variation on a Yamaha guitar. There are a number of completely non-Mosrite designs with Mosrite logos made in Japan over the years, including Fender and Gibson knock-offs. I suspect they were made for the home market, not for import.

Why even bother calling it a Mosrite? I know, $$$.Re. English muffins: Juan, you don't know what you're missing. Not a scone, not a bagel...how do you guys do eggs Benedict? A nice toasted Thomas' English muffin with butter dripping into all those nooks and crannies-I'd rather have that than that guitar!

That is about as close to a Yamaha SG-3 as you can get, but does seem to have Mosrite style knobs and a zero fret(which the Yamaha had) Link Wray played an SG-2, which is the same guitar but with a single coil in the bridge instead. The Yamaha also had the serial # in the same place as a Mosrite.

Link had some interesting internal mods done to his for distortion/fuzz, there was a huge difference in tone when he had to switch to another guitar. I had hope that Yamaha would have done a tribute guitar to him. Oh well.

Cool guitar though, even if it isn't a Mosrite.

I remember seeing a white Yamaha SG 3 on the Guitarpunk site years ago with a Mosrite logo on the headstock and the heading: 'Bold new design from Mosrite.'

Further on the muffin theme .. especially to Elliot ... we do have an alternative , the attractively named Crumpet ! That's what we lightly toast and then butter ! They seem designed to hold butter like a sponge There's always time for a bit of crumpet !
