Wow, that's a beefy block! Will it be attached to the front and back of the body or just the neck and heel?

For additional weight relief you could give the block a "swiss cheese" job like Pontiac did to lighten the frames of the Super Duty Catalinas:

It looks bigger than it is :mrgreen:
Its still smaller than the blocks in gibson's es types.

Fair enough. Still even if it's not a "big block", there's a nice ring to a Gun Super Duty 421... :)

I will not use the swiss cheese method in the centerblock I want to preserve as much sustaiiiiin as possible :mrgreen:
When you "cheese" a solidbody you stay away from the center also.
Altough I have to make some cutouts for the pickups and to get the pots and switch in.

This is the veneer for the top. Its nor clearly visible on the pics but there also some little birdseyes present. and the wave pattern is criss-cross
