Some unusually good close-up shots of Ricky Wilson's 4 string set-up on the Mark V (II?)

If you can get past Fred Schneider's (lead singer) distinctive strange-ness, it's a pretty cool vid to check out.

To get right to the 4-string shots advance to: 53 secs; 1:43 secs; 2:23 secs; 3:52 secs; 4:21 secs, and the closeout right to the end.

The guy loved Mosrites, and when he died the original B52s Mosrite sound died with him.

Alan.

Ah yeah, I joined this forum because of Ricky's guitar style (And the tone of his Mark V in the first album) Ricky's guitar seen there is a 1966 Mark V. I'm not sure of the serial number. I noticed something odd in this video, For a few moments at about 0:43 there's a clip from another song. Ricky is playing his 70s Mark I in it. Its hard to tell since you don't see the body but the differences you can see are:

1. The headstock is in sunburst
2. It looks like there is binding on the neck
3. Keith is wearing a sun visor hat (If you look at him in the mirror just before this you see hes not wearing the hat)

I think the original sound of The B-52's was almost gone by the time they recorded Bouncing Off The Satellites though. It sounds like he still used his Mark V for at least some songs in the album but the songs turned all poppy, Nothing like the first two albums.
