I do see a zero fret, it's right next to the string guide. I grant you that the string guide does look like a nut in the picture.
The auction program allows some insight into what equipment and tools Semie used in the manufacture of his instruments, thanks for sharing, murphman.

I believe these things were auctioned as lots and individual pieces rather than all at once. I've been told that Semie and Andy either attended or had help from friends to get a lot of the inventory. I'm sure Bob and Artie have insight into this.
