Looks to me that the only tools you need to properly shape the horns is sandpaper. Or, am I missing something?

I could do the shaping with sandpaper but if I can get a small curved rasp or something like that I think I'd get better results. I'm always looking for an excuse to buy new tools. :D

The neck arrived today so I did some quick fittings and pics. I'm pretty sure I can make a Mosrite-style bridge and tailpiece.

Body with neck.

Possible bridge and tailpiece.

Headstock.

Nice figuring on the fingerboard.

Pickups? Who knows?

10-minute prototype of a bridge saddle. I don't like the acorn knob because it's too big. I may fab a cover for the bridge anyway.

This is going to be a pretty awesome project. Glad I could be part of it :)

Kevin,

I just sent a couple more measurements for the neck that you will need if you build some original-style necks.

I roughed out a bridge and tailpiece. I'm still not sure if I am going to use them. Hipshot makes a sweet D-style bridge that would look great on the bass. If I can find one for less than $200.00 I may go with that.

OK, I haven't been slacking. I've been practicing wth the router and I should be ready pretty soon to work on the neck pocket. I was unhappy with the bulk of the bridge so I made another one. The wood on the tailpiece is still being shaped.
