Re: Pickup Magnet Info

Of course, my recent post call's for some adjustments in some of my previous theories earlier in this thread. :!:

Another reason why my recent post regarding "unoriented Alnico V magnets" is important is because the so-called "unoriented" versions fetch a higher retail price than ordinary Alnico V. I believe that all an "unoriented Alnico V magnet" is, is a degaussed Alnico V. In fact, some folks have even described it as sounding like a "degaussed Alnico V."
How dare you presume to inject, using reproducible facts and rational thought, an on-topic discussion into a thread that had degenerated from sarcasm, personal invective, and hand-waving arguments?

Remarkable. I had always felt/guessed, that since the mosrite pickup had "refrigerator" magnets , that they were the source of the unique sound (no other oems used them) . What a great dissertation fellas. Folks, checkout surplus stores and what not for these old magnets. They were used in lots of other industries , I would bet that there are boxes of them kicking around undiscovered.

Hopefully, my next experiment will give us some clue as to whether or not the breakaway magnets are isotropic or anisotropic. If they turn out to be isotropic then we can pretty much rule out Alnico V, according to the new info.
