Reminds me of the young local (DC area) reporter who went to a lot of trouble to track down the kid who had been the inspiration for the Exorcist book and movies. This kid is now a retired NASA engineer in his 70s and the reporter called him up, saying, "Hi! I'm so-and-so, a reporter, and wondered if you would like to talk about that time in your early teens when you were supposed to be possessed by the Devil!"

A long silence on the phone and then a gravely voice says, "Don't . . . ever . . . call . . . here . . . again!" CLICK!

Some folks just don't care about history!!!

Not to stray too far, but upon review of this entire thread, I believe that is Jesus Huipe in one of the pictures from Jonas Ridge days, back on page three. Looks like Jesus is inspecting neck blanks. I only mention this because he is somewhat of a topic of interest in the Lawsuit thread back in the Mosrite Clone forum, re: building the "Semie Moseley Signature" Mark 1s for Loretta.

Re: the 4th Picture Down. The red Wood buildings I believe are the old buildings up at Jonas Ridge NC. I stayed up
there with Semie and Loretta several times and worked with Semie in those Shops. I have complete photos taken
by me between mid to late 89/90. I will dig them out and check. But I got goose bumps when I came across this Topic
here and saw that picture. I was just up there with Andy a couple of years ago and dicussed what I saw with Terry (TNM). The old buildings are in poor shape and the old trailer's from a 18 wheeler's are still there. As I said I will dig out my old Shop pictures and get back with everyone. Hold those thoughts.
The Picture with this response is taken in Bakersfield about 1988/89. At the museum. Rosie, Semie, Brian Lonbeck and myself. Good Memories. Check out Joe's second Mosrite next to us. More on that later. Luv Elaine

I had Bill Gruggett's first wife, Darlene, (my mom) take a look at the photos on page 4 of this really old post by dubtrub. She was a part of the original scene back in the 'tin shed ' days and I thought she might recognize something that would help us know if this is the place, as it seemed from the post there was still a shadow of doubt. I asked her to look Specifically at the bottom three photos on page 4 of a shed that the posts were indicating was the original tin shed redone --and then she noticed the photo with the truck herself ........ Here is here response regarding the photos.

" Hi; Well, the picture at the bottom doesn't look like I remember it because it's been changed so much but the picture with the big truck struck a bell and they are both the same building. I remember a large parking lot of the north west side of the building (I think it was NW) that ran the length of the building, like the one in the picture. The building was definitely tin and had lots and lots of windows. I quess that when they changed the building from tin to siding they covered up most of the windows. I remember the door looked quite a bit like the one in the bottom picture. It was just a plain old wooden door that was already old in 1961. The building was old and funky but made a great guitar factory. Your dad was there quite a bit and I also spent lots of time hanging around. It was a fun and busy place to be. I tried to learn Semi's finger picking style but.....never could.
I met Merle Travis there. I also remember that Semi had a "electronic genius" working for him. Some young guy who would come in after school. I can't remember his name but his talent was quite impressive. Thanks for the trip down memory lane) "
I have asked her to look through her 50 year old albums to see if she has any old photos inside or outside . If she finds something I will share.

I came across this pic somewhere, I can't recall where. Is this the "old tin shed"?this is a Picture of the Mosrite production facilities circa 1960-1962 across from standard school in Oildale.the shop was the shed behind Semi's grandmas house. photo by Artie Niesen.

This was a house in Semie built guitars at in the later 50's. It is close to where Deke lives in North Hills CA. This would have been in the double neck building period.

Th 'tin shed' my mother said looked familiar due to the parking, and door, etc and size of building is the one on page 4 of this thread, bottom 3 photos - except the tin has been replaced. She was in the building all the time with Bill Gruggett, so I was there too, but dont remember. She thinks she has a photo of him standing in front of it but is in the process of moving, as soon as she has settled Ive asked her to dig deep and find that photo!!
