With the 60lb spring and 4 shims, once the .050 low E was put on then the spring took a dump. With the 120lb spring and 0 shims it sets perfect to my taste and back to where it should be if given the lighter guage strings. ;)

If anyone is interested in the heavier spring tension for heavier guage strings let me know. The gentleman I mentioned that helped me out is about place a minimum order of 40 springs so I'll have one for my doubleneck too. :)
If it hasn't been done before, there's a reason why.

now I'm discovering some others "little" things....
are there some others way to eliminate that "move"?
are all the others brand tremolo the same?
I've to find it out,'couse this is the main problem to go out of tune,I think.

While we're somewhat on the subject of tuners I haven't ever seen anyone put Steinberger tuners on their Mosrite. Is it just that nobody on the forum has tried them yet or do they make the guitar "headstock heavy"? Or do they not fit?

The only Tuners I recall from Steinberger mounted at the butt of the guitar, sort of like the Floyd Rose, but not on the bridge. If those are the ones you are talking about, it will create havoc with your TREM system, being that it would have to......no, that won't work. I don't think you want to start cutting up your guitar just for those tuners.....
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Nah, he's talking about the Steinberger gearless tuners. Good tuners, just not sure about them on a Mosrite...

I originally tried using the bigger strings on my Mosrites but found out for what I'm after the lighter strings work better. That was also one of the factors that attracted Nokie Edwards to Mosrites also, they worked great with light strings. My original 65 Ventures and Jonas Ridge Side Jack Ventures both stay in excellent tune with stock parts and setup. I work them hard and do a lot of "Dive Bombing" ala The Ventures "Driving Guitars". Also my Hallmark is equally as consistent and reacts well to light strings and heavy tremolo work. I love the nylon washer mod and will check out the space, if there is one on my Guitars. thanks for the tip and beautiful pictures of your Mosrite.http://www.myspace.com/thethunderheads

interesting stuff, and way awesome pics! on my moseley tremolos I never had this issue. I use 9's and 10's on my mosrites, but never had any issues with the tremolo unit shifting on me.

Yes, Those are the tuners I was referring to. I suppose we could answer the question by finding out if people put them on Gibson guitars with angled pegheads.

the reason why i mention the string gauge is because there would be more movement in a bridge sysytem with less tension. But even when I have no strings on, the whammy doesn't shift on me.
I don't have any tuning issues on my mosrites, even when i use the whammy a lot. the only thing I would suggest is that I switched out my tuners to grover rotomatics, and I personally I feel they help with tuning stablity compared to the vintage style klusons. Just my two cents.
