Been in Redcliffe, Queensland for ten months now but born and bred in London...
Been playing guitar forever, always wanted a Mosrite because of Fred Smith of the MC5, Dave Alexander of the Stooges and of course Johnny Ramone... Had my chance to buy a mint black Ventures MkI back in the 80s but didn't have any cash back then (struggling musician, etc)... It was only £500, which wasn't too bad for those days... I normally play Gibsons, fave guitars are LP Juniors tho' I've just bought a 70-72 LP Custom just like James Williamson's... It's boss...
Reason I'm here is that a local luthier in Brisbane has agreed to build me a custome MkII to my specs, i.e. looks like a MkII but the hardware and neck of a '59 Les Paul Junior... It's being christened the notrite... I'm a graphic designer by trade so I've been having a lot of fun messin' around with the headstock decal...
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be on here in the coming weeks mining boring (but essential) technical data on the MkII's construction... We don't have a guitar to work from, I really should pop 'round to Tym's Guitars with some vernier calipers...
Glad to be aboard... Mosrite forever!
Joe x

PS I would post a pic of my decal design mocked up on a Mosrite headstock but this forum software doesn't seem to like my Flickr links... Check my instagram if you want a look... @teeenslain

Welcome to the forum Joe! I'll skip all the Australian cliches! I was gonna suggest you contact Tym's Guitars but you beat me to the punch.
Dubtrub...thanks for posting the link, but it came up blank when I clicked on it. Could be my electronic computing device though.

Many thanks, gentlemen... You're right, Scott, no shortage of Mosrite knowledge in these parts... I feel so lucky to have Tim as my local guitar shop proprietor, it's a wonderful place and he's a great guy... Come visit us in QLD sometime...

Teenslain....Thanks for the invite...I contacted Tim many moons ago and was gonna have him build a Wosrite for me but by the time I had the money, Tim was stacked up with work and wasn't accepting any other jobs. I asked Bob @ Hallmark to build what I wanted and he did a great job.
