Is this the old factory?

Postby KRamone27 » Sat Jan 03, 2009 3:46 pm

I came across this pic somewhere, I can't recall where. Is this the "old tin shed"?

Kevin, that sort of looks like the house and shop on E. Minner Ave. in Oildale where I first met Semie in 1959. I can't say for certain. For some reason the house portion doesn't look quite right. That sure looks like the old shop though. Where did you locate this photo and was there any information to accompany it?

Here's the pic I was referring to. It looks like this photo was taken from behind the property.

The second picture looks familiar but when I blew it up larger, it didn't ring any bells. I recall that second photo from seeing it before and at the time I thought it was the Oildale shop, but after viewing it blown up I don't think it is. However, the top photo rings a louder bell. Man, that was 50 years ago. I wish I would have taken photo's back in the '90s when I took Artie out and showed him the old building. It had been standing forever, who would have thought it would have been destroyed for progress. If you ever figure out where you got the top photo let me know.

Dennis, for some reason when someone links to photo's in the current Fillmore pages neither I or the other Administrator can access them. Can you save it to your computer, transfer it to Photobucket then post it here as an [IMG] ?
