Replacement bridge pickup for 1966 celebrity lll
So, I bought a 1966 celebrity lll a couple years back and love it. The one draw back is the owner before me created a new pickup ring and put in a standard cheapo p-90. I pretty much have only played the neck pickup but ready to make this thing right. To avoid having to fashion a new pickup ring I’m thinking about just swapping out the p90 with a p-90 close to the same specs of the original pickup. Can I double confirm the specs for this pickup and/or does anyone know of a p90 out there or someone that would make one this hot? Thx!!

Re: Replacement bridge pickup for 1966 celebrity lll
Welcome and you do have 3 options, the 3rd not always being available:
1: Member Bob Shade (http://www.hallmarkguitars.com) has a stock of vintage Mosrite magnets that they used in their pickups (they're not commercially available now, otherwise) and he can make you a vintage-spec Celebrity III Bridge pickup. The Celebrity III used the cheapest set of Mosrite pickups at the time; no pole pieces are in it.
2: Ed Elliott, also a member here, also can wind you a pickup and he has period correct pickup covers. I have a set from Ed in my Ventures II and they fit the bill well.
3: Old stock parts from parted out guitars on eBay. These aren't always available.
