.... Was there any special revelations coming out of the Hallmark contingency in regard to new releases, or what was special about the first run 60 Customs?

I am not at liberty to say, but maybe Johnny will chime in when he gets home on Monday evening or Tuesday. I think they want to wait until they get a few bugs worked out. The secret lies in the headstock on the first 60's Customs.

Here's an early one to examine.

Wrong answer. Think color.

BTW, the three tone red, silver and blue looks great in person. It looks almost white. It is a beautiful guitar. For the money I think the Deke Dickerson custom signature model is one fine guitar. I think they are around $1400. Very reminiscent of Semie's early work.

After being able to examine all the Hallmarks, I'd have to say they are the best bang for the buck bar none.

I love a good mystery ... Did they go to a coordinated body/headstock color on later models? The overlay on mine is black ...

Here's a couple of shots I know Mel didn't get so I'll go ahead and post a couple more.

For you Buddy Holly and the Crickets fans, here's the original group.

Here's a photo of the Crickets drummer. Notice the old Standel amp setting next to him. I think that's Deke's amp.
