Geeky note on this subject--I know most of you guys have the fully adjustable Mosrite bridges, but just a note in case you are lucky enough to have a 50's Mosrite or a guitar with one of the "carved" aluminum bridges (non-adjustable), like the early flip-up vibramute....

The same tip goes for the fixed intonation BIGSBY bridges as well that come with a new Bigsby vibrato....

THESE VIBRATOS WERE ALL MADE FOR A WOUND 'G' STRING! If you've ever tried to get a guitar to intonate with a light set of strings and one of these fixed bridges, you are out of luck until you realize that they were made in an era before 'slinky' strings and unwound G strings....

…appreciate all your rich reactions to my “edumecation” and “Slanted Pups” questions here guys and I've already learned plenty about some fairly obvious observations I’ve made on my new 60 Custom Hallmark, -it being my first live acquaintance with a Mosrite guitar… or at least, very close to one!

I feel humbled to be getting replies from such knowledgeable people and enjoy the humour and jesting too, often accompanying many a post on this here forum, making it real special!

Now, let’s see what else I can find on my guit…?

As he dozed off, ideas would pop into his head. So, he put the marbles in his hand, as he dozes off, he drops the marbles, wakes up, and remembers his ideas. Paul McCartney came up with Yesterday in his sleep, except the words were a little different. Scrambled Eggs. True story. Kieth Richards used to sleep with his guitar, kept a tape recorder around too. Wakes up one morning, or whenever a Kieth richards wakes up, and there on the tape is Satisfaction. Brian Wilson put his piano in a sandbox to feel like he was at the beach writing songs, but he was awake. Creative people do some very strange things sometimes.

I have heard of everyone of these 'Historical Stories' except for the Thomas Edison's story. We even visited Thomas' (one of many) homes on the West Coast of Florida
and never knew that this story existed. You see, you learn something new everyday on this Forum. All they talked about was the Light Bulb that Thomas had invented
(and is STILL BURNING) and that he was very close friends with Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone.....
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

In the Henry ford museum, you can find one of the most bizarre artifacts known to man: Henry ford was at Edisons bedside when he died and, as Edison gasped his last breath, Henry Ford held a test tube to Edisons mouth and "caught" his last breath and topped it off with a cork. It is labled " Edisons last breath", another true story.

Yeah, the Henry Ford museum also has the chair Abe Lincoln was sitting in when he was shot AND the limousine that Kennedy was shot in! Those are just the death-related artifacts....but they also have totally weird stuff like George Washington's camping gear, the last surviving "house of the future" from 1947, some of the Ford concept cars of the future from the 1950's...it's a pretty darn great museum.

It's in the Henry Ford museum? I thought it was still in Fords theater in Washington D.C.

I was there in....September (?) of this year, and they have the chair. I got the impression that most of that stuff in the Henry Ford museum had been there since the 60's, who knows where it was before that....

I guess the one at the theater is a reproduction. Across the street from the theater there's a townhouse that has the bed that he died in encased in 1/2" glass.
