This guitar comes from a short run (about 1000) of electrics co-designed by Paul Barth and Semie Moseley, allegedly made at the Mosrite factory, and produced by Paul Barth and his business partner Ted Peckels. It's basically a small-bodied Stratocaster with Jazzmaster electronics/trem and a Mosrite/Rickenbacker German carve, and in fact feels much like a Rickenbacker. It is finished in trans cherry, and the pickups rock. The pots date to 1961 but production didn't start until '64. The tuners have been replaced with vintage Musicman F style tuners. Non-original trem arm and gigbag. $900 + shipping (this guitar will ship from Tokyo as I left it with a friend there when I moved back to the States).
Adam, I don't know about anyone else, but I have NEVER seen a "Bartell of California" guitar before. Probably a lot of people have seen these pop up now and then in California? I've only seen Vintage Guitar Buying Guide List it, but not with a PIC as far as I can remember....
