B52A Back

Postby Black Headstock » Mon Nov 09, 2009 10:33 am

Hey Danny & All,

I was originally registered as B52; as a result of misunderstanding on my part, I thought that I was banned from the site. This was my error, caused by one of my posts being relocated from Guitar Section to Music Related Section, etc.; my misunderstanding entirely.

Anyway, back as B52A.

Been playing my 1971 Mosrite VI (#V0231) since 1981 and also proud to own the following:
1972 350 Guitar: non-stero, single jack, chocolate brown (#0150).
1973 300 Guitar: one pick-up, humbucker, natural (#0005, with initials EW under serial#)
1986 VIII Guitar: Parts-Rite (neck & body), California Grape, all original vintage Mosrite hardware collected over three years; ready to assemble.
1963 Danelectro Shorthorn Deluxe: White
1961 Danelectro "Wish Book Special": Brown-Gold Sparkle
1984 Mouradian LS-74 (rare Guitar version of the Chris Squire Bass CS-74)
1987 Mouradian LS-74

The Forum is outstanding and has greatly helped me in fully appreciating all that Mosrite is.

Thanks,
Al Manoian

Welcome back and good to have you around the block, Al. Always nice to see a fellow New Englander. One of my biggest regrets about leaving is not being able to bring my repairs to Jim Mouradian. Fantastic guy.

A welcome from me too, Al. I have not heard of a Mouradian guitar before...now my interest has been aroused and I shall be doing some googling (what a verb!).

Welcome back and I don't think I read your guitar collection before, Nice selection. I'd like to try a 350. By the way, Do both of your 300 series guitars have the stop tailpieces? I saw a picture of one recently that had a Moseley vibrato so that's what has me interested. And as for the subject of your old account, I think it would be better to have the old one. it sounds better. ;)

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the welcome back.

Yes, Adam I am a New England "boy", actually grew up in Lowell, MA. I think you are from Andover, MA originally?

The two Mouradian LS-74's (purple-black sparkle) that I own are my two treasures, of course only after the beloved 1971 Mosrite VI. The circa 1987 LS-74 (guitar) is one of the production models (which I think only about 20 were manufactured); the circa 1984-5 was one (I believe) of the very few hand-made by Jim Mouradian. I am hopefully going to visit Jim & his son over the next few weeks to show them both to him, and hopefully get a deeper understanding of their "story-lines".

As to the question regarding the 1972 Mosrite 350 Guitar (#A0150) & the 1973 Mosrite 300 Guitar (#K0005: EW stamped under serial#), they both have standard stop tailpieces. The neck on the 300 (single humbucker pick-up) is really massive and feels very custom-made.

Anyway, thanks again for the welcome; and as always the Forum is the greatest.
