I don't know so I ask to you:
as a big fan of the early Ventures, would like to know what kinda effect they used in tunes like the beginning of"slaughter on 10 th avenue",may be something from Mosrite ? I saw posted some pictures of Mosrite pedals but don't know anything about it.
thanx

Bruno,
I believe that the only effect that Nokie used on "S.o.T.A." was just reverb. But the guitars were Mosrites.....
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

There's definitely no Fuzzrite on Slaughter On Tenth Avenue!
A Fuzzrite is pretty distinctive....like a flatulent wasp with a chainsaw driving a motorcycle into a woodchipper.

Isn't there a fuzz guitar overdub in the last verse of Slaughter on Tenth Avenue? Or maybe my cassette copy of the song has just seen better days.

I don't recall an "overdub fuzz track" on Slaughter, but I might be thinking of the "Ventures on Stage" Track  .

Either that Mel, or you blew the crap out of your speakers
on the last Verse of "Slaughter."

I probably did blow the speakers, but I'm thinking of the studio version with the organ/sax, not the live version. No fuzz on that.

I just listened to 'Slaughter'. There is some kinda fuzz being used on the second guitar which is playing the bass line in the beginning/1st verse, but the lead is clean. On the last couple verses it sounds like the lead guitar is dirtier than it was in the beginning - just the amp being driven? :|

Vincent had posted a thread where we could actually listen to ANY TUNE by the Ventures.

......uh, it's a 'sticky' so that it would be easy to find at the top of the music related forum. ;)
