1966 Mosrite Bass REstoration - Need Bridge or Bridge Parts

Postby bessanutz » Mon Sep 05, 2011 9:16 am

  I am in the process of restoring this 66 bass, but one of the intonation screws snapped off while adjusting bridge. Is there any here know where to get some bass bridge parts or replacement bridge.
thanks ahead of time. kevin

You should be able to find them at any Hardware store, the screws that is.

the exact "phillister" head screws of this type are NLA. There are a set of 18 on ebay right now. Or you can use a panhead screw. The nuts are still available but have a larger hex. Fastenal has these items.

I have new old stock nickel plated bridge saddle screws and the small correct acorn nuts in nickel too. It looks like you could use a set of 4.

It also look like you may need a bridge saddle, I should have that as well. You may be able to extract the old broken screw, but sometimes they just won't come loose, and you are forced to re-drill and tap or replace.

The screws on Ebay are stainless steel and are close to fitting but are not an exact fit.

We have NOS height adjustment screws too, I do not see those in your picture.

I ended up drilling and re-tapping the string saddles, and using some Hex Head Stainless Steel Screws I picked up from Home Depot.

Thanks to all
