Hi my name is Jackson and i am running out of options and am not sure where to turn to next but hoping some one on this forum can help. I am looking for my family guitar that was sold without my knowledge a while ago. it was purchased new and has a long family history.
It was sold to Jim Pasch at the Del Mar fair grounds a while ago and now i have been trying to track it down for years. I cant seem to reach him even though i got his email he doesnt seem to respond. I saw this picture of it on the internet along with my personal photo that was taken by a camera phone with out my knowledge. I really need this guitar back in the family since i have a son now. I am sorry I cant figure out how to post pictures but if you go to the web site on this forum and check the page it is the white one labeled 59/60 prototype...which it isnt.

i am not too good at the internet stuff but it is the white Mosrite that Joe is holding. I called the company that is on the picture but they dont remember it. If anyone can help i would be in debt to you and can post some amazing stories regarding this guitar and a ton of pictures when it was new and every year until 2008 when it was sold. I can be reached at anytime.
thanks everyone for your help

Was the guitar stolen? Becuase if it was leagally sold you may have to buy it back, that is if it is even for sale.

How was it sold without your permission? This is a very strange story on a pretty rare guitar.

Hi Brian, it was supposed to be kept in the family and was discussed for over 30 years with me. then one day i was told it was sold. So now i am trying to track it down. So no criminal act was done just hurt family feelings. Like if your mom burned the table your grandfather made for firewood. it just hurts.

You may want to put an add in Vintage Guitar magazine about getting your guitar back. This magazine has many readers around the world and a simple add may help you get it back. Good Luck!

I'm sure many of us here would love to know more about the guitar, if you'd like to share any early history that you might know. Was it bought directly from Semie, before he had a factory and proper business? The story of these prototypes is mysterious, and a number of people are fascinated by them. I have looked at those photos of the white one many times and thought it was just amazing looking. Hope you are able to find it again.

Re: PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN...
If you mean Jim Pash of the Surfaris, he died a some years ago. One possibility would be to find out what county he was living in and look up the probate records. The probate records should have an inventory of valuable property he owned at the time he died. I think he was living in L.A. or Orange County, maybe San Diego. Paul Johnson (of The Bel-Airs) probably knows; here's his web site: http://www.pjmoto.com/ Alternatively, Paul may be able to put you in touch with the family.
