Hallmark Hi Fidelity Humbuckers

Postby timmat » Tue Sep 18, 2012 7:52 pm

Could someone (maybe Bob himself) talk a bit about the white Hallmark hi fi humbuckers? How do they compare to the hot single coils in the Hallmark II models? Thanks.

Sure! We set out to make this humbucking pickup sound alot like the "67" single coil pickup but in hum bucking form. They are both wound to apr. 10K and have a beautiful clean tone and twang as well as being able to get nasty tones as well. Both are well rounded pickups. I am a single coil guy but I know everyone is not, so we offer this to fit the Swept-Wing, Stradette, and Barris Krest models.

We plan to offer hum bucking pickups for the 60 Custom models as an option soon as well.

I am actually having Bob make me these in Black for my Johnny Ramone in December. Go for it man! I think they sound better! The stock ones are a bit microphonic for my taste. I had a sweptwing and it sounded killer with distortion!
