Hi i am 15 years old and a HUGE RAMONES FAN.i live in Bristol Connecticut and a few weeks ago i had the idea to make my dream guitar in my high school wood shop. this is my first time ever building a guitar.it is made out of MDF board. here are some pictures just go here: http://s1279.photobucket.com/user/Calt0101/slideshow/ my plans are to make a replica of Johnny Ramones white Mosrite mark 2. I would appreciate and leads on cheap necks,pickups,bridges,switches, and pick guards.
Thanks,
Caleb Tellier

Are you making this from scratch, or are you restoring one.

yes, i am making it from scratch. i sandwiched 2 pieces of MDF board and use a template i found in the internet to cut it out with a jig saw and then smoothed it out on a belt sander.

MDF huh? That's pretty much what Johnny's real one is made of too.
Looks good to me so far. Good luck. I'm a huge Ramones fan as well. I feel very lucky to have seen them live 6 times.

Caleb;
This could be the start of another Semi Moseley, keep it up.
I make reproduction selector switch knobs. When you get ready for one, send me your address and I will send one to you.

Nice! I'm 14, and currently restoring a vintage Fender Jag. I keep seeing more and more talented builders our age... Makes me feel less special.
Looks great, keep it up! Nothing wrong with alternative materials, check out Dennis Fano's "Fanosphear" guitars. Acrylic and aluminum. Then there are the Danelectros, some of which are excellent guitars. The more work you do yourself, the cheaper it will be.

Speaking of alternative materials. I built mine from cast resin.
