New Member / need help identifying

Postby RellKC » Mon Nov 17, 2014 6:34 pm

Hey Guys,

New member here hoping I can get help identifying and (less important) valuing what we have. This was recently past down to me from my late Uncle, He was as big of a music lover as I, and its great to have a little piece of him here with us. I will hold on to this forever, but just need a little help knowing a bit more about it, and a ballpark value. If you guys could help me out or point me in the right direction, That would be awesome!

--I'm not exactly sure but it's possibly a 1965 or 1966 Moseley Model, the first ones after the end of the Ventures endorsement. I'm sure there are folks on here who could confirm or deny this. It sure is a beauty. A valuable piece, both monetarily and sentimentally. Sorry about your Uncle's passing, but congratulations on owning a beautiful guitar. -SG

It's actually from the early '70s.

Nice guitar! Looks identical to mine. Mine is v0122. From all the research I've done, it seems that mine is either '71 or '72. I bought mine in 1991 for $500, although I'm sure it's worth way more than that now.

Mine was V0475, from what I could tell from past research it was a '72.

mosrite was out of business in 69, and most of 1970. Semie didnt really get back into the swing of things until 72, but a few guitars were made in 71. since it has such a low serial number, im gonna guess 71. I have a 72 and 73, I paid about 1800 for each. If I were selling this guitar I'd probably shoot for 2000 or so. hope this helps.
Cheers,
