Exactly which Mosrite do I own?

Trying to determine just what my guitar actually is and what its approximate resale value might be. The '70s (when I scored the axe) remain a little foggy to me, so I'll greatly appreciate your help. It's a Mosrite 6-string, red (burgundy) in color, serial # H0947. The sticker inside the F hole lists it as a model "300" altho' I've been told by a music store owner that it's a Combo. Perhaps the two terms are not mutually exclusive? Details: "Moseley" on the base of the bridge, "Mosrite of California" on the pick-ups, tone and volume controls show "M" rather than T and V, and on the back, 3 screws connecting the neck rather than 4, and no plate, just the screws, "Mosrite of California" on the headstock, no Ventures logo. Condition is good to very good with expected scratches here and there, and it plays like a dream (the good kind). Virtually no references online to "H" serial numbers. I love it, but I seek to know its true identity. Please help, y'all.

Thank you for that tip, mosriteer. Although the factory sticker calls it a model "300" I'm guessing that the 300 is a sub-set of Combo? Or are they two different animals? Also, hoping to ascertain, with s/n H0947, when it would have been made (I'm guessing '66 or '67) and about what it might be worth today. Lastly, can someone tell me how to attach photos to a post here? I can't locate an "attach" link. Thanks again.

The Combo was introduced originally as "Combo Mark 1", sometimes shortened to CO-1. Later variants were known as Model 300. Combos also came in several flavors/variations:

(a) body binding: white-black-white body binding or just a thin white binding
(b) tailpiece: full vibrato Moseley tailpiece or "half" vibrato Moseley tailpiece
(c) tuners: Klusons (most, metal knobs) or keystone (later ones)
(d) neck attachment: plate-and-screws (4 screws) or grommet and 3 screws

I have also seen a Combo with no body binding and Klusons with plastic knobs, but I am not sure if it happened to be the real thing. This could well have been one put together with whatever parts were on hand during the waning days of the Bakersfield P-street factory.

You can date your guitar, of course, by looking for a date stamp on the neck or neck cavity.

Many thanks for that helpful reply, mosriteer. Mine has thin white binding, metal Klusons, full Mosely tailpiece, and three screws for neck attachment. All of which you'd see if someone would tell me how to attach photos. Also still wondering what you or others think it might be worth. Thanks again.

Yes we would love to see pics of your Combo/300.
But first you need to upload them to a photo repository site like Photobucket or Dropbox, or whatever you prefer.

Thanks for reposting the maze for posting pics...I have been successful a couple of times in doing this properly. But I have been unsuccessful many times thus, I just gave up on posting pics. I wish there were a simpler way of posting pics, I have a bunch more to share with everyone.

I hear you! When those instructions were written back in '08, Photobucket was a lot different and user friendly. They have made so many changes to their photo hosting process that those instructions are grossly outdated. I see on other forum people are posting photo's using other photo hosting sites. I'd suggest doing an internet search for a free photo hosting site and find one that is simpler to use.
