I met so many friends and forum members both from here and Surf Guitar 101, that I have about lost my voice from yelling over the music. Both Mel and I took a ton of picture's that will be posted later.
We got to the show around 3:30 p.m. and met Deke on the way in. Once there we met Bob Shade, Johnny, Adam and Texas Bob. All a great bunch of guy's. Mr.(?)Fillmore of Japan was also there as was Dana Moseley, unfortunately I did not get a chance to meet them.
I got to spend about 45 minutes talking with Brian Lonbeck only to learn that he is living right here in Bakersfield and playing on Wednesday nights at Buck Owens Crystal Palace. Needless to say we will be hooking up again soon. I met and talked at length with Terry Neil McArthur of the beautiful TNM custom double neck guitar fame. Hopefully he will soon be joining the forum as was also promised by Brian. Brian did complain of not being computer literate.

The vintage gear display was 'to die for'. The entertainment was some outstanding musicians playing a wide variety of music. A special guest star come on stage around midnite and it was a real treat to see Larry Collins. Previously I had talked about having a Mosrite Convention but there could be no better convention than to have everyone meet at Deke's Geek Festival next year. Our biggest mistake was not grabbing chairs and leaving our gear on it. The place packed to the max right after we arrived. Being busy meeting and talking with everyone we failed to designate a place to sit and ended up on our feet from 3:30 p.m. until closing at 2:00 a.m. Then we had another 2 1/2 drive home. Man were we beat.
More to come as the other folk's report in.
