Hey, has anyone delt with these guys before? Sent them an e-mail about a month ago reguarding some parts I was interested in. They responded with the details, I e-mailed them back to let them know I wanted the stuff and never heard back again. I sent two more e-mails since, and nothing.
On Vacation? Super Busy? Anyone know the deal?
Thanks,
- Brian

Hey Tim,
I have heard from a couple of other friends down under that some shops in the USA don't want to ship to Australia. So much hassle at the post office. ?????

You're dead right there. It's so frustrating when that happens. Although at the moment our dollar has been gutted by this recession and buying fom the US is not an affordable option for things like guitars.

Hey, I had this all backwards. I thought the order was from Tym Guitars Australia.
I have never ordered from Tym Guitars. But have had several email conversations and he is a good guy. I hope he is OK. He's no flake.

Yes, it's the other way around... I live in The U.S. and I want to order some part from him in Australia. I'll be paying the shipping.
I've heard nothing but good things about the guy, just wanted to know if anyone else has bought from them and what their expeirence was.

Hey Brian,
Not only is Tim a good guy, he's one of the best in the expertise of Mosrite guitars. I've known tim for over 10 years now, and he's a great guy. I never had a chance to buy anything from him, but I trust him through and through.
I can tell you that tim has become far busier then he use to back in the day. we use to respond back through emails almost daily, now it takes time for him to get back to me, so don't feel bad.

Yeah, I'm buddies with Tim in Australia too, and I can verify that he's a straight up dude. But he's juggling a lot these days, not only running a music store and rental company in Brisbane, but trying to make guitars and be a daddy and play in a couple of bands too....
I've had a chance to hang out with him three times down in Australia, that man is mad about Mosrites! He's got some pretty hip ones in his collection, and as mentioned before on this thread, he has a website with a very good Mosrite history on it, that I helped him with some of the photos and dates and things.
If he's not responding it might be that he just doesn't have the parts you're looking for. What WERE you looking for, anyway? Seems like any Mosrite part would be easier to get over here anyway...

He got back to me last night... I'm in no way bad mouthing the guy, just wanted to know if he was still in business, on vacation, laid up at home with a broken leg, or what.
I'm looking to buy a set of the Ventures II pick ups that he's making (along with a few other odds and ends), no one else makes them and the odds of finding an original pair are pretty slim.

Re: Tym Guitars (Australia)
What ya talking about Brian?? Theres hundreds of parts out there, take a look at this treasure trove:
Joe Maphis double neck parts
Unless Danny goes all insane on us and wants bits for a new double neck, this lot will never sell for that price! IMO he'd be better off breaking it down into alot of smaller auctions, keep your eye on it and when it ends make him an offer for a few of the parts...??
Give him a call about them though, he will be swayed I bet ya! Leslie Alderman 740.391.1819 cell

Re: Tym Guitars (Australia)
I know a lot of you guys endorse Tym, but has anyone actually ordered anything from him? I've been trying to order some Mosrite parts for the better part of three months and still haven't been able to put my order in. I get a response every couple of weeks saying that he has what I need, but cannot get any details about actually ordering the stuff, paying for it, etc... It's very strange, I've never had this kind of experience before.
If anyone knows him could you find out what the deal is for me, thanks.
